Gary Ricker

Gary served NYCA in the capacities of Membership Chairman, Treasurer and Vice President/Treasurer. He was a dedicated insurance professional who served in a duel capacity for Sterling and Sterling, Inc. as Vice President of Claims and President of Essential Services and Programs, LLC. He served his country as a Veteran Army Officer in the role of Master Sargent and also served as an inspiration for those that had worked beside him as he focused on “getting the job done”. Gary left behind a wife, two children and four grandchildren whom he adored as well as all of those lives he had touched along his journey!

John Stack

NYCA MemberJohn served NYCA in the capacities of General Counsel to the Association and Vice President. His career encompassed over 25 plus years with Con Edison where he began as a meter reader. He worked his way up through the ranks, while attending Law School, to become Senior Counsel in their Law Department. During his tenure as General Counsel for the Association, John was instrumental in preparing recommendations to enhance our Constitution and By-Laws. He was a gentle man that was admired by all. John left behind a wife and three children whom he cherished.

Richard D. Guttentag, Esq.

NYCA MemberRichard graduated from the University of Miami in 1959 and its Law School in 1962. He was in the United States Army and later was employed as a workers’ compensation hearing attorney for Consolidated Mutual Insurance Company. In 1968, he went into private practice specializing exclusively in the representation of workers’ compensation insurance for both carriers and self-insured employers. In 1984, he became a partner in what is now the firm of Cherry, Edson, & Kelly, LLP where he continued to specialize in the area of workers’ compensation until his unexpected demise in December 2007. Richard is survived by his wife Glenda, children Marci, Lori and Jeffrey and two grandchildren, Bradley and Rachel. Richard was a special person who touched so many lives; a true gentleman and a friend to all.
