Steven Scotti, Esq., Executive Director – New York Workers’ Compensation Board
Steven joined the Board in Sept. 2022, bringing many years of relevant industry, government and leadership experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Acting Deputy General Counsel for the Workers’ Compensation Division of the MTA – New York City Transit Authority.
He has been a practicing attorney for over 30 years, beginning in the public sector at the U.S. Department of Labor, followed by 15 years with the NYC Law Department, where he served as Chief of the Workers’ Compensation Division for seven years. He joined Con Edison in 2002, where he was responsible for building a workers’ compensation practice in its Law Department, and from 2013 to 2018, served as Associate General Counsel for Labor, Employment and Benefits.
Steven has a BA in Political Science from Stony Brook University, and a JD with honors from New York Law School. He served on two Governor’s workers’ compensation task forces (Rocket Docket Committee and Task Force on Group Self-Insurance) and on the FBI Task Force on fraud. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Special Funds Conservation Committee. He is a former Chair of the New York Self-Insurers Association and served for many years as its Special Counsel. He is a former President of the New York Claim Association and recipient of its annual award for excellence. He also received the Workers’ Compensation Board Chairman’s Award for Excellence in 2001.
He is Co-Editor in Chief of the 2011 NYS Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Law and Practice in New York, and a frequent speaker on workers’ compensation issues. In 2016, he was inducted as a Fellow in The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers.
Kevin A. Maloney, Senior Vice President – North America Casualty, Allied World Insurance Company & Real Estate & Financial Institutions Practice Leader
July 2012 – Present — Kevin Maloney is Senior Vice President – North America Casualty at Allied World responsible for helping our regional offices to continue to achieve sustained profitable growth. Kevin oversees cross-sell of Allied World insurance products across multiple lines of business. Kevin is also Practice Leader for Real Estate & Financial Institutions for Allied World and generates Cross-sell placements across many Allied World lines of business.
Prior to Allied World, Kevin was an Executive Vice President at AIG from 1998 – June 2012 (14 years). Kevin was the PCM or Head of Division 32 – Excess Casualty for Real Estate & Financial Institutions. Kevin was also Senior Vice President & Head of Central Zone for Div. 75 – Lead Umbrella Construction with focus on: National Accounts & Wraps: OCIPs & CCIPs.
Kevin is a graduate of St. John’s University. Kevin has the following Insurance Industry Designations: CPCU, ARM, AIM, AIS, CRIS & ARe. Kevin was Named “Insurance Executive of the Year” by The NY Claims Association in 2019. Kevin enjoys Distance Running to fundraise for Cancer Research through the “Run for Lisa” benefitting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
