As President of the New York Claim Association (NYCA) I wish to provide you with an association update and a look ahead for the last quarter of a most challenging year. As we all remain cautious, yet optimistic, the association looks to sustain and emerge from the current impact that COVID-19 presents. With that in mind, please see the following association updates.
Navigating through a pandemic is overwhelming and there are no easy answers. In these challenging times, your safety as well as the state of our industry have never been more important to NYCA. With the postponement of the 2020 Golf Outing, I am happy to announce that the date and location of NYCA’s 2021 Golf Outing is June 7, 2021 at the Cherry Valley Club in Garden City, NY. Additionally, in light of safety concerns, the NYCA Board voted unanimously to postpone the Fall “Meet the Board Event” and the 2020 Gala Event. Please save the date for NYCA’s 2021 Gala which is scheduled for December 11, 2021. In the coming months, we will decide on how and when to host the “Meet the Board Event”.
NYCA strongly believes in delivering on the association’s educational commitment. And so, I am excited to announce NYCA’s FREE educational webinar series. Our Fall webinar series will consist of the following topics:
- 9/29: Heroes at the Ready: How Northwell Health Battled Covid-19 and Achieved Claims Management Excellence.
- 10/22: Advancements in Prosthetics sponsored by Orchid Medical
- November TBD – Covid-19 – Challenges for Employers As they Prepare for the New Work Environment
These educational webinars are free and all are welcomed. Information to register for the webinars will follow under separate cover and will be available on NYCA’s website. I hope you’re able to participate in the series.
Lastly, please keep an eye out for a NYCA communication on the 2021 Membership Drive that we’re looking forward to kicking off next quarter.
NYCA is marking its 106th year. I’m confident NYCA will survive these unprecedented times which is a true testament of an active and engaged board and its loyal members. With our collective efforts, we will continue to advance the goals of NYCA and remain on the forefront of the insurance industry. Please continue to check NYCA’s website at nyclaimsassociation.org for the latest updates on all events and our upcoming educational webinar series. On behalf of the NYCA board and myself, we sincerely thank you for your understanding during this time and hope that you and your family are safe and healthy.
